My journey in Santa Rosa

It was an October morning in 2012, when my boyfriend and I decided to start the tripe to Santa Rosa de cabal, driving a motorcycle. We left at 7 am, he was so excited because he was to meet his mother's family; Ride on a motorcycle for nearly 4 hours was not fun, Our bodies hurt us, and we had to stop to relax. We arrived almost at 11 am and for me it was a different experience because it was the first time I met my boyfriend's family and they were all very nice. I arrive too tired and I slept all afternoon, and the surprise for me was the cold that was doing in my packet not wearing proper clothing for cold, I thought that it was hot, and pass several nights shivering.

That night I met the town, we went to Central Park, as were at fairs, I saw many shops selling traditional sweaters and scarves made by indigenous and artisans; I could also see live actor and singer Joe Arroyo's novel, it was great to listen and dance to their songs. The next day we visited the Pereira center and Zoo, we saw a huge sculptures around the city park and the zoo saw the biggest snake I've ever seen in my life, it was huge, this were a python. I have snake phobia and every time I saw, I was shaking from fear. Elephants were very close to people, because it was very hot, they showered with their long noses, and it was best to listen to the roar of the lion because I love cats. Something very curious about this zoo is the display of ligers, the liger is a cross between a tiger and a lion human-made, the result is the bigger of all feline; in this zoo were raised 2 of them, but unfortunately one of them died and the other had to be euthanized because he killed a doctor when he examined, they are now dissected so that people can see them, and really are majestic and intimidating.

I forget to mention the Rhino

After my visit to the zoo we went to more expected place, the hot springs of Santa Rosa, everything was going good until on the way we saw how people were running from resort using their swimsuits and their packets hanging, we were walking towards the place and all the people returned. I had to ask what was happening, when someone explained to me that a landslide had occurred and that we should not go because it was dangerous. When we went to the waterfall, we saw down trees falling, and the water looked dark, not knowing what to do, I asked the local guide and answered us that everything would be under control soon, not to worry, as the desire to be there were many, as we decided to enter. The tickets cost about 60 thousand dollars and best of all; we paid for the night time. There were hotel, restaurant and 3 heated pools, backed by a waterfall, and this was beautiful and big attraction for everyone. It was great to be there, but the water pressure affected me and I could not be much time submerged in pools.

Beautiful place

Then we went to a fantastic place called Don Paschal, a luxurious and sophisticated bar, where jazz, candles and cocktails create a charming atmosphere, when we saw to entered the Colombian actor Fernando Solórzano, accompanied by 2 more people went to tables near the fireplace and the people around him just were watching him. Back in the park I ate Chorizo santarrosano, sausage popular throughout the country for its taste, it was delicious. And spent three days full of pleasant experiences I will never forget, I invite you to meet Santa Rosa de Cabal, a small village very friendly people and fantastic places.

Introduction

I remember visiting when I was a child a pools of hot water, it was very interesting to me in there time, but it was best to go back 15 years later and marvel with beautiful place, Santa Rosa de Cabal, located about 15 or 20 minutes of Pereira, a small town with old houses and small streets, mountains and hot springs.

On the way to meet the thermal, My boyfriend drives a motorcycle and I could see the beautiful landscape around the road, so I though somewhat bad happened, many people instead of going to the resort, coming in the opposite direction, and traffic forced us to stop, seeing people running even with their swimsuits and hanging bags, I got worried and I started to ask what happening, when someone answered me; a landslide! When I move closer I saw the waterfall falling tree trunks, and the dregs of water level rose by the minute! if you want to know what happened next, read the full blog on this exciting travel.

About Me

Like a lover of travels and adventures, I like to share my experiences and anything that I live in this world; My name is Paola Restrepo and I live in Cali, Colombia, I decided to know my country because people who habit it are not aware of the beautiful landscapes and exotic places that we can visit without having to leave the country.

I love trying new flavors and eat typical food from the cities I visit because I think there much of the culture and customs concentrates, and to dance with the residents is good, to feel that actually went the place and not just a tourist.

Student of Accounting and photographer by passion, I love to capture every moment that I live, all that my eyes see and start my curiosity, I cannot pass up the opportunity to meet an interesting town or city and take as many pictures as I can. I enjoy nature, even more than the large modern buildings, tourist attractions; including fashion and nightlife of the population, is the things that I couldn´t not experience if I travel somewhere.

This is my blog and I want to show a small part of my adventures.
